III.   Acting Chairman’s Report
Report skipped because of time constraints for important business items.
IV.   Certification Chair Report
Robert “Hoop” Hooper reported that our membership is at 114 officials: there is always a need to recruit more officials.  He reported on the SafeSport certificate that the National Olympic Committee now requires.  Our national USATF office requires officials complete the SafeSport training by December 2015 in order to remain certified.  Discussion revealed that the training is meant to help provide a safe environment for athletes.  A SafeSport clinic is being held in Tucson on October 3, 2015.  Our chairman is working on a Phoenix area clinic.  It is also available  on-line.
V.   Financial Report & Budget
The financial report showed a balance of $2152.39.
VI.  Education Chair Report
Report skipped over because of time constraints for important business items.  It was noted that clinics are needed and will be scheduled soon.
VII. New Business
It was reported that the election of officers for our committee would take place at next year’s meeting, which is the beginning of the next Olympiad.  A list of duties was requested for people to know what is required in each office.  The offices for election are Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary, Certification Chair, and Education Chair.  David Palmquist announced that he would not stand for re-election as Secretary next year.
Nominations were received to fill the present vacant office of Chairman.  Michael Sanderfer was elected to fill the unexpired term of Chairman for this year.  Diane Martin was elected to fill the vacant office of Vice-Chairman for this year.
VIII.   National Meeting
Bob Hooper, our Certification Chair, is automatically a delegate to the National Convention in Houston.  Diane Martin was elected as our other voting delegate to the USATF National Convention in December.
Bob Flint reported and explained that the Association would probably pass an amendment later this morning to fund each chair of the Association with up to $1,000 to help offset expenses accrued by voting delegates to the national convention each year.
Discussion and explanations ensued.  A motion was made and seconded that the officials committee chair will share up to $1,000 (or the amount received) from the Association with the elected voting delegates who attend the National Convention from our Arizona Officials Committee, plus whatever the committee decides to contribute from its own budgeted funds.  The motion was adopted.
IX.   Awards
National Outstanding Service Awards for our Arizona Association were presented to Mike Pekar and Diane Martin.
X.    Adjournment
The meeting adjourned at 9:05 a.m.
