You will need a copy of the Rules Review for your level, a copy of the USATF 2016 and NCAA 2015-2016 rule books (this May be done in hard copy or on line). Please bring something to write with.
You must be a member of USATF. If you can afford it I recommend joining for the 4 years that correspond to the Certification period.
If you have not already done so, the SafeSport Training and background check by NCSI are required for Certification. I have previously sent out the information on the background. You will need to provide proof these are completed.
All the Rules Review, links to SafeSport training, and the background check are on the officials section of the USATF web site.
The Officials Information Form needs to be completed and turned in.
If you need or want a new photo for your card, I will bring a camera for that purpose.
If you know anyone who wants to certify as Apprentice, this would be a good time to bring them with you.
If you want to upgrade, please let me know so we can check to see if you are qualified, and have the necessary steps completed.
For those doing the Masters Rules Review I recommend it be completed or mostly completed before you come. It is not a test that can be done in one sitting.
Per Mike Pekar: The 2017-2018 NCAA Track and Field/Cross Country Rules Book is now available on the NCAA Web Site under publications.
As I advised everyone last year this book was going to go under a major revision for this issue. You will immediately notice that the following sub-sections have been eliminated and their contents merged into appropriated parts of the book.
Sections eliminated were the following: Indoor Track and Field; Combined Events; and Cross Country
You will find what was previously covered under these sections in areas such as Facilities, The Competition, Field Events, Running Events, etc. These changes really streamlined the book and made it much easier to locate significant information.
